Australian artist and glass bender, Emma-Kate Hart, became deeply captivated by the people and experiences she had whilst living in Sydney. Immersed within the cities underground cultures and Hibernian Art Commune, Hart searched relentlessly for any last remaining neon factories that still existed. Emma-Kate tells Mondo about her work with conceptual artists and talks about her shifting from commercial work to teaching neon courses at Canberra Glassworks. And, ultimately why it’s important to focus on creative and personal projects, and her involvement in the largest all-female neon exhibition ever put together, She Bends.
